NSW Police being optimistic, they can trace a Missing Sydney businesswoman suspected of allegedly stealing “tens of millions” of dollars from potentially hundreds of investment clients.

Melissa Caddick, a 49-year-old mother, mysteriously disappeared from her $ 6.2 million mansion in Dover Heights in Sydney’s eastern suburbs on November 12, and has not been seen since.

Talking to Ben Fordham at 2GBThe New South Wales police commissioner said detectives working on the case believe she is alive and are studying digital evidence for clues that lead to her whereabouts.

“We are changing the case [as if] she’s still alive, “Fuller said.

“It is very difficult to disappear [in 2021] and not be found given the electronic footprint that we all leave behind. “

Detectives were combing CCTV footage, investigating computer software in her vehicle, knocking on doors, and analyzing other evidence to find her.

Fuller said the Australian Security Investment Commission (ASIC) was also conducting an investigation into possible retirement investment fraud “in the millions, maybe tens of millions of dollars.”

“There are potentially hundreds and hundreds of victims out there,” Fuller said.

“And of course his family members … want answers.”

As reported by 9News Last month, the Australian Federal Court heard that investors had allegedly turned over more than $ 13 million to Ms. Caddick in the run-up to her disappearance.

Caddick disappeared on November 12 after the Australian Federal Police (AFP) raided his home in Dover Heights as part of an ASIC investigation.

ASIC has identified up to 61 potential victims.

He allegedly used clients’ money to finance his lavish lifestyle instead of investing his savings.

Documents filed with the court reveal that in the run-up to her disappearance, Ms. Caddick used her credit cards to spend $ 250,000 at Dior; $ 60,000 at Chanel and over $ 230,000 at Canturi Jewelers.

Security cameras at his home were unable to capture his departure, as the hard drive had been seized three days earlier by federal agents in a raid on the property on behalf of ASIC.

All of Ms. Caddick’s assets and accounts have been frozen by court order.

A court has allowed Caddick’s husband and 15-year-old son to access $ 800 a week for “reasonable living expenses.”

Her disappearance is being treated as a missing person, but police say she is still open to all possibilities, including that she was injured or in hiding.
