Universal Pictures to release Atomic Monster and Blumhouse’s horror thriller M3GAN, starring Allison Williams (Shall, Girls), on Friday, January 13, 2023. The film will open in front of Sony Pictures’ kraven the hunter.

M3GAN stars Allison Williams as Gemma, a brilliant toy company roboticist who uses artificial intelligence to develop M3GAN, a realistic doll programmed to be a child’s best companion and a parent’s best ally. “After unexpectedly gaining custody of her orphaned niece, Gemma enlists the help of the prototype M3GAN, a decision that has unimaginable consequences.”

The film also stars Ronny Chieng (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, crazy rich asians). M3GAN is directed by Gerard Johnstone (confined at home) scripted by Akela Cooper (Evil one, the nun 2) based on a story by horror master James Wan (Evil one, He saw, Insidious, Y The spell franchises).

Jason Blum (Hallowe’en, The invisible man) and James Wan produced the thriller. Michael Clear and Judson Scott are executive producers on Wan’s Atomic Monster. Blumhouse’s Ryan Turek is an executive producer. Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath are executive producers on Divide/Conquer. Mark Katchur and Allison Williams are also executive producers. Blumhouse and Atomic Monster produced the film in association with Divide/Conquer.
