Sánchez announced in October 2021 that the new General State Budgets would include a cultural bonus of up to 400 euros for those young people who turn 18. Spain is not the only country that has such aid, in fact, for the elaboration of the text the Ministry of Culture and Sport has followed the experience of other countries such as France or Italy that have already implemented similar benefits.

In France, known as “Pass Culture”, the beneficiaries have a mobile application through which they can make up to 300 euros of cultural expenses for a period of 24 months. Instead, Italy is upping the ante with a series of €500 coupons that they can use on concerts, movies, books, museums or even digital subscriptions.

The Spanish budget for this initiative is an item of 210 million euros and it is expected that benefit almost 500,000 young people from all over Spain. Thanks to this, it is hoped to facilitate universal and diversified access to culture for young people, as well as support and stimulate the various cultural sectors that have been severely affected during the pandemic. In this case, the voucher will be valid for the 12 months following its granting, but these will not be the only limitations.
