The number of deaths to Cause of Covid-19 in Mexico amounted to 309,752 deaths, after 206 new deaths were registered this Monday, reported the Ministry of Health.

The federal agency registered 9,242 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, so the accumulated number of confirmed cases increased to 5,160,767 since the pandemic began in the country, 711 days ago.

Regarding hospital capacity, general beds register an occupancy of 40%, while beds with ventilators for the care of seriously ill patients are at 26%, one percentage point less than what was reported yesterday.

Health authorities estimate 156,916 active cases, that is, people who have presented symptoms of Covid-19 in the last 14 days, according to the daily technical report on the progress of the epidemic in Mexico.

Epidemiological traffic light from February 7 to 20

As of this Monday, February 7, 15 states are in the orange color of the Covid-19 Epidemic Risk Traffic Light, while 13 entities are in yellow and four in green.

Advance of vaccination against Covid-19 in Mexico

The Ministry of Health highlighted that at the cutoff of Sunday, February 6, 53,402 coronavirus vaccines in the country, to reach a total of 169 million 681,294 doses supplied since the vaccination plan to mitigate the pandemic began on December 24, 2020.

Of the 83 million 903,511 people immunized against Covid-19 in Mexico, 77 million 614,361 have a complete vaccination schedule.

The strategy of the Government of Mexico continues with the vaccination of lagging people and young people between 15 and 17 years of age, in addition to the application of booster doses for people over 40 years of age, health personnel and the educational sector.

It should be remembered that Mexico City announced that on February 14 it will start with booster vaccination for people between 30 and 39 years of age.
