NSW Opposition Leader Chris Minns met with representatives from the NSW Jewish Board of Deputies (JBD) at Parliament House last week, where he spoke candidly about a range of issues of concern to the Jewish community.
The private meeting with Minns – which was also attended by Jewish Labor MPs Walt Secord and Ron Hoenig – included discussion on community issues including security, antisemitism, cemetery space and the Jewish community’s ongoing support of NSW flood victims.
Minns also took part in a Q&A with attendees, and will address the community next month at the annual Yom Ha’atzmaut cocktail reception, along with Premier Dominic Perrottet.
“We are very grateful to Mr Minns for hosting us in his boardroom, and speaking so openly with our community about a multitude of issues,” JBD CEO Darren Bark said.
Minns said it was wonderful to meet with the communal representatives and discuss so many important issues.
